About Me

My name is Fiona Sands and I live in the Cotswolds in a valley surrounded on all sides by hills. I started lampworking about 4 years ago using soft glass. Now I work in both soft glass and borosilicate glass.

Its the magic and mystery of colour that first drew me to boro, the ever changing hues dependant on the light, the clarity of clear boro glass. It continues to thrill me and has enthralled me. I am its servant and it is my master. It is temperamental, fickle and a joy to work with.

All my beads are handmade in the UK and are kiln annealed and carefully cleaned before they are sent.

Colour is very difficult to reproduce on a computer screen, I do try to photograph my beads in natural sunlight, but please remember, the colours change depending on the light.

SRA stands for Self Representing Artist. By seeing this logo, you can be assured that all of the beads you purchase from me are handcrafted by me in my own studio. Many beadmakers are using this logo so you can buy comfortably knowing you are buying quality, handmade artisan beads sold by the beadmaker and not production/mass-produced beads
